La punta de la TEA elevada se monta en la parte superior de un elevador soportado por un sistema de cables (guy-wires), normalmente dispuestos con un conjunto de tres (3) cables en \u00e1ngulos de 120 grados. Las TEAs atirantadas requieren m\u00faltiples anclajes de cimentaci\u00f3n para anclar los cables al suelo y, por tanto, este sistema de soporte requiere un espacio de parcela mayor que otros sistemas de soporte.
